NextEra and Dominion Energy just announced a $67B all‑stock merger.  

Together they’ll control 110 GW of generation across renewables, gas, and nuclear, effectively creating a US “energy supermajor” built to power the AI/data‑center boom.  

The combined fleet makes them #1 in US renewables, #1 in US gas, and #2 in US nuclear, all inside one company. For context, the next largest US utility, Duke, is at 54 GW.
