In 2024, solar generated 2,000 TWh, the smallest output among the four major clean sources. Hydro led at 4,400 TWh, followed by nuclear at 2,900 TWh and wind at 2,300 TWh.

By 2026, solar passes both nuclear and wind. By 2029, it overtakes hydro. By 2030, it reaches 5,700 TWh, 43% of the combined clean energy stack.

Over the same period, hydro grows 14%, nuclear 10%, wind 65%. Solar grows 185%. No other source changes rank. Solar goes from fourth to first.
